For the past four years I’ve been learning about business and marketing online. I listened to all kinds of different people and ideas. What I realized is that everyone struggles before they make it big.
The truth is I’ve been failing myself to the top. Let me phrase that another way: when you were a baby did you fall down when you were learning to walk? Me too but we took our lumps and have moved on because I’m assuming that you made it upright and no longer even have to think about walking. In your subconscious mind it is muscle memory. I don’t know about you but I’m walking upright in business and know you can too.
I’m real, no hype or pitch. I’ve been a leader on the battlefield and now in the boardroom. The leadership traits are the same, which is why I was confused as to why I wasn’t where I wanted to be. I realized it was my fault because the things I was learning were so old and outdated it was putting me behind the times.
The old way of doing outbound marketing (flyers, postcards, buying leads, meetings, telemarketing) were what worked 10 years ago but since the Berlin Wall went down & the information age went up, the internet’s INBOUND marketing (facebook, twitter, myspace, blogging, WEB 2.0) is where you want to be.
I realized that when I met an internet marketer who’s part of my mastermind team who made 1.4 million in 10 months from FREE traffic through WEB 2.0 that I better start learning. Now the best part is his success was done before 30. Next it was the 26 year old band member who rocks out by night and hits the keys during the day who has financial freedom because of the skills he learned about marketing online.
So I thought this had to be too good to be true, but then I asked myself “What if it isn’t?” I waited three years to find out if this was true and lost a lot of money because of it.
