The question I’d really like to know is why are so many adults afraid?

“Afraid of what?” is what I’d like to know? What people will think? What someone might say? I’m here to tell you that on average 1 person out of the 10 people that show up for a funeral might cry but, yet people worry what the world might think of them. So what’s stopping people from dreaming?

Leaders dream, they set the stage for us all.

Do you think Dr. Martin Luther King cared what people thought? No, he was too busy living his dream. Even after he was gone his dream transferred to millions which eventually became reality. Why might you ask was he able to do this?

Because of his spirit; it wasn’t going to take anything less. He wasn’t afraid of what people might think, do, or say behind his back. He followed his dream and in doing so he changed history. History is what happened today, the future is what happens after you are done reading this. Make a conscious effort to follow your dreams. Become that child again and dream; don’t let others steal your dreams because they will.

Now take a moment for yourself; ask the question, “Am I moving closer or farther away from my dreams at this very second in time?” Only you will know this answer.

Don’t put this off until later because later might never come. Life doesn’t come with a 30 day money back guarantee. Life is a gift and there are no promises; you only get one shot. Soon we all will become history but, our dreams will live forever. Clocks ticking; start dreaming again, it’s your decision, yours only.

The mind is a beautiful thing let it free.

Rule #1:  Would I do this at a party?

First I’ll tell you how to make money online using web 2.0 the wrong way.  Nothing turns people off more than people writing on another person’s social networking site about a product or service or self promoting.  It’s kind of like spray painting graffiti on your friends’ house; chances are you won’t be invited back or treating people as prospects instead of friends.  If the first part of this article applies to you than you may want to reconsider how you’ve been doing things and issue an apology letter.

The first key to learning how to make money online using web 2.0 is developing a relationship with someone.  This is no different than if you were right in front of them.  Treat your Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and YouTube accounts as a place to socialize, not make money; social networking sites are made for socializing – like a party.  Would you go to a party with your product or service and start shoving it in someone’s face? So why would you do it online?

Be the life of the party by offering content of value that people want and they will likely hang out with you outside the party; this is on your blog.

Think of it this way: at the last Super Bowl Party Robyn went to not everyone there was a diehard football fan, but it was pretty easy to see the ones who were; Bill, the guy waving the terrible towel kind of gives it away.  Along the same lines, you could let everyone know you’re a die-hard football fan through your pages on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and YouTube or several other social networking sites by posting information that is of value to everyone at the party.

At work on Monday Robyn might have mentioned the guy waving the terrible towel being a diehard Steelers fan; not knowing the person she’s talking to, Mike, is another diehard Steelers fan.  Mike says, “Hey, sounds like my kind of guy!”  The virtual, online version of this conversation would read something like this: Robyn tweets: “Bill is a crazy Steeler’s fan”.  Mike replies to Robyn’s Tweet with a Tweet of his own: “Sounds like my kind of guy”.

In this example, can you see how Robyn did Bill’s advertising for him?  Instead of one person at the water cooler, thousands of people who follow Robyn on Twitter now know that Bill is a crazy Steeler’s fan.  Bill now has people that he doesn’t even know following him on Twitter and requesting to be his friend on Facebook and MySpace all because of Robyn’s post.

Rule #2:  When I have friends over does it give me the right to shove my business in their face?

Now they send you a request to be your friend, follow you, subscribe to your channel – does that mean it is now ok to now start spamming them with your product or service?

Of course not, start a relationship with them and invite them over to your home to watch the next big game.  Your home is your blog where you hang your terrible towel, Steelers Posters and things about you.  Give people a reason to come over, though, because you’ve got cool stuff in common or you can solve their problem.  Simply offer valuable information that they want to find on your web 2.0 social site and your house, aka blog, will become the after-party where people come to hang out.

Not everyone who comes over to your home will be interested in your product or service but those who do will ask.  That is the key with how to make money online using web 2.0, people simply ask you “What do you do?” and then recommend you to their friends.

You may ask well how are they supposed to know what I do?  They are on your blog and will be able to tell what you do and share it with others.  They may not even be interested in your product or service but it’s always fun to recommend a friend and with Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and YouTube; it’s easy to do.

The most important part of how to make money online using web 2.0 is offering value with your content through blogging.  It’s also a benefit if you have free information for people; give away free tips, add a place for people to ask questions, subscribe to a newsletter.  This will help you build the relationship even further.  This is where most people are doing it wrong; if you have made the effort to gain the traffic to your website you better have a reason for people to come back.  Having the biggest flat screen TV doesn’t cut it anymore, you need the best salsa & chips too.

Rule #3:  How do you know it’s ok to start marketing to people online?

That’s the head fake.  You’ve been doing it all along using web 2.0.  You’ve developed trust and confidence through your network of sites with the content you’ve posted.  Once someone trusts you they are more likely to use or buy from you and tell everyone else to buy from you, too, because you now are answering their questions and solving their problems.  People will visit your blog to find the product or services you have offered to their friend and read up on it and possibly buy it from your online store.

Going back to how they will find you, your new ‘friends’ (not you) will be posting it on their social networking sites, which will increase the chances of sales because a friend recommended it.

In summary, treat web 2.0 like a party, your home as your blog, and people will reach out to you when they want your product or service because you are their trusted guru; it’s like recommending a friend you know who throws a killer Super Bowl Party. Don’t set out to make money using web 2.0, set out to solve people’s problems and you will become the life of the party.

The “Memorial” in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice:

• by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes. 
• by visiting memorials. by flying the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon.
• by flying the ‘POW/MIA Flag’ as well (Section 1082 of the 1998 Defense Authorization Act).
• by participating in a “National Moment of Remembrance”: at 3 p.m. to pause and think upon the true meaning of the day, and for Taps to be played.
• by renewing a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our falled dead, and to aid the disabled veterans.

Also, please consider adding your voice in support of the efforts to restore the traditional day of observance of Memorial Day back to May 30th (instead of “the last Monday in May”). This would help greatly to return the solemn meaning back to the day, and to help return minds and hearts to think upon the ultimate sacrifices made by those in service to our country. Just one day out of the year to honor our loved ones, our ancestors, our friends who died in conflicts and wars — not to honor war, but those that died in those conflicts and wars.

I receive many emails from people expressing their thanks for those who have served and gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country. The following, received in 1999 and used with the author’s permission, sums up all the emails I have received very elegantly, and is true to the original spirit and meaning of Memorial Day.

“This weekend I am going to do something different. I am going to buy some carnations each day and go to one of the nearby cemeteries and walk through the sections for soldiers. When I find a grave that has no flowers, I’ll leave one and say a prayer for the family of that person, who for some reason could not bring their soldier flowers. I will pray for our country and all who serve or have served. For their families, who also serve by losing precious days, weeks and months spent with their loved ones who are off serving, preserving peace and the freedom we have in this country. I’ll pray for the families who paid the ultimate price, who’s loved ones died, or were taken captive and never returned. I’ll pray for anyone who may still be held in captivity and thinks perhaps they are forgotten. I do NOT forget.

I’ll say a prayer for every person on the Internet who takes a moment from their time to come to sites like yours and be reminded of what this holiday really means. And I’ll say a prayer of thanks and ask God’s richest blessings on you.

In fact, wonderful people in other nations sometimes show more of the true spirit and mission of the U.S. Memorial Day than we do here. For example, a 2001 US Memorial Day Guestbook entry from a citizen of the Netherlands states:

“Hi, In 1999 I laid flowers at the grave of a young U.S. fighter pilot who was KIA in my village in 1945. In the Netherlands I know of schools ‘adopting’ graves of Allied servicemen, keeping those graves in excellent condition ! Does anybody know of adopting graves in the U.S. by schools ?

Think Twitter is still for kids? MySpace? Facebook? If you do you’ll probably be looking for a job pretty soon. Companies pay for eyeballs and now tweets. Think about it for a second, with 1 tweet Ashton Kutcher’s message goes in front of One Million People! That’s like a super bowl advertisement.

Companies are hiring people just to sit and tweet all day. So if they are hiring people to tweet they probably are firing you because you don’t know how. Learn what happened to Dan.

Dan was just doing some social media: Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, blogging etc… for fun at work when all of a sudden his boss was like, “I want to see you in my office.” He thought his coworkers had turned him in. So what does Dan do? He Tweets, “I think I’m about to be fired.”

His boss says, “Sit down, we need to talk.” Dan begins to sweat, thinking, “Here it comes – I’m not looking forward to telling my wife who complains about me tweeting, that I lost my job because of Twitter. “Dan’s boss says, “Listen, Dan, the boss from upstairs wants to see you.”

“You mean…”

“Yes the CEO.” Aka Mr. Big.

Ok, so now he’s thinking lawsuit here. He quickly walks back to his cubicle, says a quick goodbye to his cube mate and starts to pack his bobble head, kid’s pictures, red stapler …

In the elevator ride up to see the CEO he Tweets “Looking for a new job if anybody knows any openings?”

The office door opens and the assistant tells him to wait over there on the leather couch. The secretary offers Dan something to drink; Dan says “bourbon?”

The secretary says, “Mr. Big will see you now”.

Tweet: “Anybody know any good lawyers?”

“So Dan,” Mr. Big begins, resplendent in his black Armani suit and red power tie. “What’s all this stuff you’re doing online all day, going on about yourself and even about my company?”

Ok, Dan didn’t know where to begin because he had blogged, tweeted and Fbooked on the couch. Dan says, “What specifically were you referring too?”

“All of it,” said Mr. Big.

Dan was so nervous he pinged an all-out blast, “Will Tweet for food!”

He figured he was fired anyway so he spilled the proverbial beans.

Mr. Big looked him straight in the eye, and, half-smiling, said,” Dan… you’re hired.”

“Excuse me?”

My forehead started to pulse and my mind opened up like a tulip blooming. I was walking on the beach in a faraway place with my feet in the sand and beautiful blue water below. I looked up to see a huge mountain like cliff as if I was Tom Hanks in Lost at sea looking for my volleyball Wilson.

When all a sudden I was lifted off the ground at thrown about thirty thousand feet in the air only to look down out of a window seat from a private jet with a little round window. I was so confused at this point because I was out of my mind & body. When all a sudden I got up and leaped out of the plain with no parachute. As my white shirt flapped in the wind I saw Aaron Parkinson fly over and we linked up in flight smiling and laughing. We begun to spin and I looked down to realize I wasn’t actually fall but flying in air.

The blue water below had aqua blotches in it like the Tahitian islands, what a beautiful day.

Next thing I remember is waking up really thirsty and the drums had stopped. My mind was clear. I visited the alpha state of the mind. The Alpha state is best described by where you start to access the unconscious mind. Deep thoughts, relaxed focus, higher initiation are just a few of the effects of slowing down your brain to the 8-14Hz range.

You bring into your life what you attract and I had been reading “The Answer” by John Assaraf, he teaches you how to tap into your nonconscious mind, which has 97% control of perception and behavior of what you do. You don’t believe me try and break a habit, that’s right it’s your nonconscious mind that keeps you from breaking habits.

If you start to master your mind you will be able to slow life down and achieve your goals much faster.

A great book to get started on this is “The Answer” by John Assaraf and linking up with someone who can show you the way to get you up in the clouds. I recommend checking out www.Cythiasroomtoheal.com to get some ideas about meditating.

It is real simple. Life’s short. You have today, not tomorrow.  Yesterday’s history, but what you do right now will be forever real soon.

I want to share something with you: being perfect is not about things, it’s who you are. It is about you, your relationships with yourself, family and friends. Being perfect is about looking your family and friends in the eyes and being able to tell them the truth. That you did everything you could for them to give them the best possible life. Can you live in that moment? As best you can with clear eyes and love in your heart, joy in your heart. Now if you can do that, than you are perfect.

Now take a moment, look your family in the eyes, grab a picture, call a loved one. Put them in your heart forever, because forever is about to happen in a few moments.

Now put that in your heart.

Now close your eyes and think about a loved one who’s passed. Think about just having five minutes with them to tell them how much you loved them; to connect again.

Now put that in your heart.

My heart is full.

Is your back up against the wall? Are you willing to fight and die for that inch? Get uncomfortable it’s how you will prosper in life, that’s life, it’s all it is. It doesn’t matter what you have been through or what distractions you’re up against. Life’s a game of inches; you are either gaining or falling behind. Take a stand right now for YOU.

You can stay where you are with your dreams fading away or you can fight. Fight for yourself, your family, don’t lose track of the person in the mirror.

I found myself in a hearse on a twenty-eight mile trip in & out of Washington D.C. bumper to bumper traffic with an average two hour commute and by the time I got home my kids were asleep & I was too tired to do anything else. I worked in a cube with people always looking over my shoulder and answering to three bosses. Today I use that as a motivator to excel as an entrepreneur.

Driving to work I filled my head full of knowledge listening to audio books like Rich Dad Poor Dad, The World is flat, 4 Hour Work Week. Then one day it was as a switch went off in my head and I vowed never to go back to that life because life is too short. I wanted to see my kids off to school in the morning and see they come off the bus.

Now I play with my kids anytime I want because I own my TIME.

Now I can’t do it for you, that’s a decision you have to decide for yourself but, I can lead you the way to your dreams. I can share with you what got me out of that hearse and began living the life I wanted. Start doing what you love, not what others want you to do. Stop paying attention to people who try to bring you back in the box because they are uncomfortable seeing you succeed. Start believing in your dreams and make them reality.

In any fight it’s the person who’s willing to die for that inch because that’s what living is. Fight and say I want more out of life right now.

Are you willing to live or die for that inch because if you are I’m willing to go that inch with you? Who’s on your team & what direction are you going? Come mastermind with my team that is mentored by millionaires every day or die as an individual.

Everybody dies but not everyone lives; now what are YOU going to do?

Getting a lift home from my coach after wrestling practice he was telling me I should look into wrestling in college. I said, “I want to play college football.” He about choked and said, “No way you are going to do that, you’re too small.”

At that time I was 152lbs and 5’10 and his comment stayed with me. What he didn’t realize was I had a burning white hot desire to play college football and nobody was stealing my dream.

If you want something it’s up to you to get it. Tune out the noise because that’s all it is. Take your eyes off the goal even for a second & you miss the opportunity that you worked so hard for. Opportunities come to those who earn them; they are not given or handed out. Have laser like focus and watch what happens; people will come out of their houses as you run down the street just to watch you burn!

I went onto burn for four years in college three of which I played starting middle linebacker at 6’0 235lbs starting in front of crowds of 80,000 screaming fans, on national TV and against top 25 teams. I only tell you this because you too have dreams and aspirations to achieve.

About 10 years later I was having lunch with him & I asked him if he remembered that conversation; he didn’t but, I did.  I told him how I remembered all those years our conversation and it was added fuel to achieve my dreams.

Take action, get uncomfortable, and make a difference in someone’s life today that no matter what they could never repay you.
